The Success
Hanif Merchant is the Founder and Chairman of Emirates Neon Group. He holds various degrees and certificates in Business Management and has also attended executive education courses at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, USA; the Michigan Ross School of Business, USA; the Columbia Business School, USA, and the Center for Creative Leadership.

UAE & The Birth Of The Company
On 19th February, 1971 Hanif Merchant landed in Dubai and soon after partnered up to create a neon signage company. After a few years of success he decided to branch out and on the 1st January, 1976 Emirates Neon was founded with only 4 employees. In the beginning, the company focused primarily on shop signs but later progressed into fuel station branding during the 1980s with EGPC (now Emarat), Caltex-EPPCO (ENOC now) and Adnoc, over a period of 2 years, Emirates Neon had implemented 200 fuel stations.
Hanif Merchant's son Rehan Merchant took control of Emirates Neon in the late nineties, with the clear objective to develop a highly successful family business into a far-reaching international media organization. Building up sales, driving new processes, expanding the offer to clients from signage into broader media provision - the new company began to spread its wings – adding digital printing, signage project management and consultancy.

ENG has come a long way from its humble beginnings, growing from a small start-up of 4 employees to now having over 450 employees across several countries. We have a strong presence across the UAE and offer multiple advertising platforms covering signage, outdoor, print industries, project management, digital and media buying.
We now operate internationally with offices in Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and UAE along with various joint venture company, Tasweeq, based in Sharjah.
The future is an exciting one for ENG as they embrace all the technological changes within the industry and keep in line with upcoming trends in the market.
